September 2025 Newsletter

Welcome back to a brand new school year! September is always an exciting time — new classes, fresh opportunities, and for many of you, the journey towards your GCSE exams. At Mr Healy's Maths World, we’re here to support both students and parents every step of the way.

🎓 GCSE Maths Results Review — August 2025

Congratulations to all students who received their GCSE results in August! Nationally, the pass rate in maths remained strong, with many students achieving grades 7–9. At Mr Healy’s Maths World, we’re proud of our students’ hard work and determination. For those preparing for exams this year, remember — consistent practice and confidence-building will make all the difference.

Advice for Parents

Parents often ask how they can best support their children with maths revision. Here are some top tips:
• Create a quiet, consistent study space.
• Encourage short, regular revision sessions instead of cramming.
• Use practice questions from past GCSE papers to build exam confidence.
• Celebrate small successes to keep motivation high.

🏉 Maths in the Women's Rugby World Cup

This year, England hosts the Women's Rugby World Cup. Maths is at the heart of the game — from calculating player statistics to analysing scoring probabilities and strategies. Here are some of the latest tournament statistics, which show how maths helps us measure performance:

🏃 Maths in the World Athletics Championships

The World Athletics Championships in Tokyo also show how maths shapes sport. Athletes and coaches rely on timing, distance, speed, and data analysis to gain those vital competitive edges. Expect to see athletics-inspired questions in our lessons too.

📅 The Year Ahead

As the new academic year begins, remember that every lesson and revision session counts. For Year 11 students, this year will include the all-important GCSE exams. We’ll continue to provide engaging, sport- and real-life-themed maths resources to make learning both fun and effective.
